Ian Waelder is an artist with publishing as a sidekick. Trying to understand the slippery quality of time, he often gets himself disoriented in order to remember. Sculpture, printed matter, spatial arrangements, and playfulness are his main allies in bringing the past to meet the present.
Everywhere and ever-present, stains exist in a constant state of danger. Many wish them gone, and few places are willing to welcome them. A similar fate befalls leftover food, which was once something desirable. Here Not Today is a series of intervened newspapers that, like stains and leftovers, have kept sprouting since a road trip between Frankfurt and Berlin in 2021. Between ritual and mischief, the gestures that give rise to this series bring small stories to the front while leaving history in the background.
